Yes, I’ve been away from here for a couple of weeks: first of all Hector had the most horrible teething time and I couldn’t put him down, and on top of that he had a cold and then I got a nasty flu type thing that then became a cough. Arrrrrghghghg! So, I haven’t really felt like running.
But this morning, wow what a gorgeous day! We had lovely weather here in London yesterday too, but this is full on scorchio at nine in the morning weather. I didn’t think I would need to slap on the sun cream and don the shades, but that’s how sunny it is. It felt great to be back out and there were an awful lot of runners/walkers/speed walkers and plodders in the park to say hello to and to smile at Hector.
Something I have noticed about running with a baby is that I have to let go of my post run routine a bit. I have always been religious about stretching, but now my priority is to sort Hector out first (feed, nappy, play etc) then grab a quick shower (whilst singing ‘This is the way we wash ourselves…’ and so on) and try and gulp down some water…I suppose I will manage a stretch at some point today!

When we got back I noticed Hector had kicked off one of his socks, so we’ll have to pop back out and try and locate it ![]()
